On Wednesday, March 19, 2025, beginning at 4:30 pm. in the View Room of the Crown Valley Community Center, the Laguna Niguel Historical Society will present a program featuring Holocaust educator Carl Schulkin and former Laguna Niguel Mayor Mark Goodman.  Mayor Goodman will tell the story of how and why the Laguna Niguel City Council decided to name a city park in honor of Holocaust survivor and Displaced Persons advocate Lilly Shapell.   Dr. Schulkin will briefly explain what the young Lilly Shapell accomplished as well as revealing the heartwarming story of "when Lilly met Nathan."
