On November 19, 2024, the Laguna Niguel Historical Society joined with the Friends of the Laguna Niguel Library, the Laguna Niguel Woman's Club and
the Brown Club of Orange County to host a conversation with Paula Johnson, curator of food history and the director
of the American Food History Project at the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History. The conversation focused on Ms. Johnson's new book, Julia Child's Kitchen: the Design, Tools, Stories and Legacy of an Iconic Space, published by Abrams in October 2024. Ms. Johnson not only described in detail the content of her new book, she also shared stories of what it has been like to watch visitors to the Museum interact with Julia Child's Kitchen during the past twenty years. Ms. Johnson was interviewed by Todd Schulkin, Executive Director of the Julia Child Foundation for Gastronomy and the Culinary Arts. |
